Patrick developed an interest in acoustics whilst studying for his first degree in Architecture and Urbanism in Brazil. He completed a MSc in Environmental and Architectural Acoustics at London South Bank University in 2018 and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Acoustics.
Prior to joining Southdowns in 2020, Patrick worked as an Acoustics Consultant in 2019 for a small specialist acoustic consultancy where he gained experience in noise and vibration assessments, across several sectors. He has worked on one of the largest road project in the UK, the upgrade of the A14 in Cambridge, where he successfully oversaw the Section 61 processes on behalf of the local authority. His work involved many Best Practicable Means compliance checks, the review of consent applications, recommendations on consent conditions and the development of noise mitigation strategies which helped improve the relationship between the community and the regulatory authority.
Patrick also has experience as an Architectural Assistant and freelancing as a recording studio designer in Brazil, where he combined his experience and knowledge from his masters studies with his passion for room acoustics.
