Sam joined Southdowns in 2016 as an Environmental Technician. Now a Senior Acoustic Consultant based in the Lewes office, his primary role is to manage a range of projects including; Noise, Dust and Vibration Management Plans, Noise modelling (NoiseMap, CadnaA, SoundPlan), BS 4142 and BS 8233 Assessments.
Sam completed the IOA Certificate of Competence in Environmental Noise Measurement in 2017 and has also completed his postgraduate masters in Environmental and Architectural Acoustics at London South Bank University in 2021 finishing with a distinction. Sam is a current Member of the Institute of Acoustics (MIOA).
Previous to working at Southdowns, Sam was a Broadcast Systems Engineer for Dolby where he gained experience diagnosing issues and suggesting fixes in customers broadcast chains. Sam is a graduate from the University of York with an MEng in Electronic Engineering with Music Technology Systems. His final year project centered around researching the use of real-time convolution on first order ambisonic impulse responses using an Audio-Over-IP network.
