Around 480 participants took to the South Downs on Sunday 12th May for the annual ‘Hit the Downs’ mountain bike challenge ride to raise funds for the Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice. Director, Rick Methold took part and completed the 60km route in 3hrs and 35 minutes, raising £525 for the trust in the process. Southdowns’ Matt Tomes was on hand to capture a few snaps on the way round including the infamous sheep drive which stopped a few riders in their tracks!
