Southdowns was commissioned by a restaurant / bar located in Clapham, London to undertake a noise assessment to review altering the bar’s opening hours, allowing for a later closing time. Noise measurements were undertaken both within and without the venue, with external measurements enabling an objective test to be undertaken to help determine whether the extension of activity associated with the venue would likely to result in a disturbance. Additionally, aspects of the venue’s management potentially influencing noise were reviewed, specifically against the venue’s license conditions, operating schedule and the Good Practice Guide on the Control of Noise from Pubs and Clubs.
