Southdowns undertook various noise and vibration impact studies to support the environmental impact assessment and planning application for a 200,000 tonne p.a. energy recovery facility; work included comprehensive baseline noise studies and seasonal noise monitoring and statistical analysis; measurement of operational noise levels at an existing ERF in Portsmouth; detailed modelling and mapping of operational airborne noise impacts; baseline vibration survey and prediction of operational vibration impact form turbines; calculation and evaluation of off-site road traffic noise impacts, construction noise and vibration impacts.
Subsequent work included the assistance on the negotiations for conditions under the environmental permit process for the scheme once operational.
